Care Trak on the ABC-TV Hit Series
"Extreme Make Over Home Edition"
In August of 2004, show producers inquired about tracking equipment for the Larry Vardon family of Oak Park, Michigan. The Vardon's have a child with Autism who has a tendency to wander away from home.
The Vardon family received a donated Home Perimeter System. This system will alert the parents if their son wanders too far from home. The system also includes a Home Tracking Unit that will locate a lost child up to a mile away. For additional protection, a professional tracking unit was donated to the Oak Park, Michigan police department. Not only is Lance Vardon protected, but the police can protect any citizen in the city who has Autism, Down syndrome, brain injury or a senior citizen with Alzheimer's Disease.
The show aired Sunday, November 7, 2004 as a 2-hour special. Care Trak is very proud to have been a part of the solution to help this family in need.
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. The series is executive-produced by Tom Forman and Craig Armstrong. For more information about the show, visit ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition page.
